What is the Reflexion Filter?

The Reflexion Filter is basically a portable device for recording live sources with reduced room ambience. It is an advanced composite wall which is positioned behind any microphone by means of a variable position stand clamp assembly which ships with the product. The main function is to help obtain a ‘dry’ vocal recording.

 How does it work?

The various layers both absorb and diffuse the sound waves hitting them, so progressively less of the original source acoustic energy passes through each layer. This reduces the amount of energy hitting un-treated walls and other surfaces so there is less of the original source reflected back as unwanted room ambience to the mic. The Reflexion Filter also helps prevent any reflected sound reaching the back and sides of the mic. Its shape and size have been carefully tested to maximize absorption while keeping ‘coloration’ down to only around 1dB, and leaving the microphone’s polar pattern unaffected.

It’s a beautiful thing folks.

Buttons, buttons everywhere...

I just recently stumbled upon this company, purebuttons.com, and they produce a great product. As a matter of fact, they are responsible for the new line of Wax Reform buttons that will be shipped with our upcoming project…

Ooh, did I just say too much about the upcoming Wax Reform project?

Damn.

Untitled...

Hey folks,

Figured I’d blog a bit since I haven’t done so in quite some time. Not a whole lot is going on right now, other than spending the last few hours of my day cleaning/rearranging/rewiring my home studio.

Over the past few months I’ve decided to take this whole music thing a bit more serious, as some opportunities have made themselves available to me and I’m planning on jumping in with both feet…so I figure, why not build up the home studio, since I’ll be using it a lot more frequently.

I’ll post some pictures of the space and some of the new toys as I get more settled in.

In the meantime, be good to each other and recycle.

peace out.

Dizzle.

Where you’ll find me…

Where you’ll find me…

RTFM

This is the acronym of the day. It stands for “read the fu**ing manual.”

Why do I bring this up? Because sometimes I need to take my own advice.

Just finished installing the dvd drive in my new MPC2500 and was about to install a brand new 160GB hard drive when I discovered that the damn drive I bought was wrong. I had bought a SATA drive and I needed a EIDE drive.

So the point is kiddies, read the fu**ing manual before you hurt yourself.

Peace

Dm.

Simply fashions’ “Souled Out” compilation,...

Simply fashions’ “Souled Out” compilation, featuring me, produced by me.

A New Day

And no, not the old Celine Dion concert in Las Vegas…

So today I am bloodshot eyed, but awake, sitting in my empty office trying to figure out what to do with my day. I’m almost positive that there’s something that I’m supposed to be doing, but I can’t remember.

At any rate, yesterday’s arrival of my new MPC2500 made for an extremely creative day. 4 beats in one day, I think that’s a new record for me. I’ve never been a beast on production like Illmind, who makes 10 or more beats per day (which also explains why he’s so damn good), but I’ve always gone for quality over quantity…and in the past, the product needed serious quality control. LOL

Yeah, I said it, I’ve been sloppy with my beat making in the past. Today is a new day, and with new tools I will make masterpieces.

My new baby…

My new baby…

Starting over...

Since there’s really no way to keep everyone up to speed on what I’m doing with the old website, I thought it might make a little more sense to start blogging.

So here is where you’ll find all the news on what I’m doing, what projects are coming up, etc.

Enjoy!
